They are prong-set with large unfoiled glass topaz-colored oval stones. The petals are domed and the tips turn upward. They are very shiny which can be seen by the reflection of my camera. They are 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" and 3/8" deep. "Sterling" is impressed on one petal and also on the screw-back part of the earring. In great condition. The pictures made the metal look dark but it's a subtle gold color.
